Not only that the new iPhone SE 2, iPhone 11, and iPhone XR won't have a charger or headphones in the box from now on. The company removing these accessories is admirable.
I mean E-waste and pollution is a huge problem, and tackling it in this manner can make a difference. Such initiatives should be applauded.
But there's one huge problem here. As much as Apple would like you to believe this is an environmental decision, it's not. It’s simply a financial one. It's all about the money. I mean combined these two accessories cost almost $40 and considering the scale of their iPhone shipments, they will make billions from this without doing anything.
Now, Samsung likes to mock Apple at every chance they get and that's exactly what they are doing. In a Facebook post, Samsung shared this image saying, and I quote, Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for.
From the most basic as a charger to the best camera, battery, performance, memory, and even 120Hz screen on a phone. It's not the only thing. Samsung also mocks that Apple is late for 5G as well. In a tweet, Samsung notes: “ Some are saying Hello! at speed, we've already been friends for a while. Get your Galaxy 5G device now. "

And not just Samsung other companies are taking a dig at Apple as well. Notably, Xiaomi posted this video on their twitter saying don't worry we didn't leave anything out of the box with the Mi10 Pro poking fun at the iPhone 12 for the lack of a charger.

It didn't stop there. OnePlus is also jumping on the Apple mocking bandwagon. At their OnePlus 8T launch event they said they provide a charger free in the box. Not just a simple charger but a 65W fast charger.

So it's all fun that these companies are mocking Apple for their stupidity and honestly I like it. Like I've said, I don't support this decision from Apple at all. They are trying to spin this off as an environmental move which is not true at all. If they really cared about the environment, they would ditch the lightning port in favor of USB C and also make their phones more repairable.

But they don't do that because it doesn't make them more money. Now at the same time, I'm kinda disappointed as well even though I'm not going to buy the iPhone 12, because no matter how much these Android companies are mocking Apple for this right now, I'm sure 1 or 2 years down the line they are going to do the same, just like they did with the headphone jack.
Because this is easy money, they'll let Apple take all the hate and when it's no longer a shock value to remove the charger they will ship their phones without one.
